The Public is a community arts project run by Sandwell Arts Trust. It's construction and the money it cost were controversial when it was first planned. However, now it is a vibrant centre and has brought the creative arts to this part of the Midlands.

These photographs were produced, as part of a commision, during the building's construction in 2004.
